Marriage or casual sex?

2

feedthequeen

Here we go again. I am back and ready to commit… To my blog that is.

Let’s jump straight into it. This has been a topic that I’ve been coming across a lot lately. And I’ve been asking myself… Am I a marriage person or a causal sex person? Do I want to spend the rest of my life with one man or do I want multiple lovers from across the globe?

Hmmmm… Both sound kinda good.

But for real, I’m freaking out. I don’t know what I want. Like…. Men are nice and all, but I’m still waiting to meet someone that I REALLY CONNECT WITH. I MEAN CONNECT WITH FULLY, LIKE 100%. I wanna be with someone that I can connect with emotionally, spiritually, physically, mentally and all of that good stuff. And unfortunately people now a days are just too guarded and messed up to even want…

Scientists Create Artificial Womb That Could Help Prematurely Born Babies – What are your thoughts?

Adidas Wilson

Scientists have created an “artificial womb” in the hopes of someday using the device to save babies born extremely prematurely.

So far the device has only been tested on fetal lambs. A study published Tuesday involving eight animals found the device appears effective at enabling very premature fetuses to develop normally for about a month.

“We’ve been extremely successful in replacing the conditions in the womb in our lamb model,” says Alan Flake, a fetal surgeon at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia who led the study published in the journal Nature Communications.

“They’ve had normal growth. They’ve had normal lung maturation. They’ve had normal brain maturation. They’ve had normal development in every way that we can measure it,” Flake says.

Flake says the group hopes to test the device on very premature human babies within three to five years.

“What we tried to do is develop a system that mimics…

Why we should NEVER skip breakfast!

3

Nowadays, many people are always on the run and in a rush and the majority think “eh, I’ll just have a cup of coffee for breakfast.” That’s not an actual breakfast guys!!!!

Breakfast should be composed of protein (eggs are the most common), whole grains (oats, whole grain bread, etc), a healthy fat (avocados, coconut oil, olive oil) and a side of fruit. Proteins and whole grains will prevent you from feeling hungry in an hour, your body will take longer to process it and it will greatly aid in your concentration.

There are many benefits for eating breakfast especially if you are trying to lose weight, you should NEVER skip it. Here are the most common benefits:

1. It helps maintain your blood sugar, thus keeping you energized and keeps away the hunger throughout the morning. This will help you avoid those impulsive-mid-morning snacks.

2. It helps you reduce…

Shrimp & Asparagus Pasta in a Lemon Caper Butter Sauce

1

Pinch of Everything

I loosely followed three different recipes to make this dish and was very happy with how it turned out.

The first recipe was my inspiration: Shrimp Scampi Pasta with Asparagus (VIDEO Recipe)

Ingredients

½ lb spaghetti
1 lb (or 1 bundle) asparagus, rinsed
3 Tbsp butter, divided
3 Tbsp olive oil, divided
4 cloves garlic, minced (about 1½ Tbsp)
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (16-20 or 21-25 count)
Sea Salt and Pepper
¼ cup fresh lemon juice (from 1 large or 2 small lemons)
⅓ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 Tbsp grated lemon zest
Grated Parmesan to serve

Instructions

Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add 1 Tbsp salt and 1 Tbsp olive oil and cook pasta according to package instructions until aldente, or desired doneness (meanwhile, continue with recipe). Drain pasta, return to pot and cover to keep warm.

Trim asparagus to remove…

The unhealthy stigma about healthy eating

1

Berries and Stitches

Everybody who likes to eat healthily, or has specific dietary requirements knows the situation: you’re out with friends, they decide to get a takeaway, and you, with your ‘fussy’ eating, are left wondering what you’re going to do for your meal. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with having the occasional takeaway, but if you’re anything like me, a processed, stodgy meal does not appeal (I’m more into chocolate than burgers).

Unfortunately, there’s a sort of stigma around eating healthily, that you wouldn’t expect to find today, but most people have probably experienced it. Eating healthily is different to being on a diet; it’s a lifestyle, and what I think most people misunderstand is that most of the time, you would rather have that delicious salad from your favourite coffee shop, than fried chicken or a burger from your local takeaway. Personally, I have no specific dietary requirements, I’m not vegan…

Beauty, skin deep

2

hello coloured life

‘Beauty is only skin deep’ they say. Then why is it that every emphasis is placed upon the appearance of a woman? The definition of that proverb is that a pleasing appearance is not a guide to character. When I ‘discover’ on Instagram all I literally see are females prancing about in their underwear, butts and boobs I like to call them.

The female essence had been reduced to butts and boobs…doesn’t that just make us proud? Look at yourself and say ‘I am a butt’ or ‘I am a boob’. Thats just makes me cringe to be honest. When we sit back and think about what we believe to be a attractive, we see that it’s all merely physical.

That rant over there brings me to this week’s blog post. As I am shedding the kgs and growing in my weight loss journey, I am discovering that I have unrealistic ideas of what…

“Life Begins at Conception: a Mother’s View on Abortion.”

Mothers Make Art

I met Jen a year ago when she joined Maker Mamas a group I organized for Mother’s who make art. She has come frequently bringing her work to share with the group and participate in discussions about art and motherhood. It wasn’t until I began posting about this current project, that I learned from Jen that she had pro-life views and volunteered to share them with me.

Yesterday we took a walk around the 2-mile golf course trail. To start the conversation I asked Jen when she first became aware of Pro-life issues and when it was that she began to embrace them. Jen explained that in college she identified as anti-Statist (the belief that individuals have sovereignty over and above the state). But it wasn’t until she married her husband, who is Catholic, that her pro-life position immersed. Jen told me that her husband Michael, is the chairman of the…

Is love an illusion?

The other day at work, my colleague and I were caught up in a discussion on love and relationships. While our conversation touched on everything from modern dating to the rising rates of divorce, she left me with a thought that latched to my mind and took the rest of the week to finally pry off. Just before grabbing her purse to leave she casually said; “I think love is just an illusion.”

This took me completely off guard. Love? An Illusion?! I found the concept simultaneously depressing and intriguing. But worst of all, highly probable. It sort of reminded me of that crumbling disappointment I felt when I was young kid and learned that Santa Claus wasn’t real. Even though the very idea of Santa seemed unlikely, I didn’t want to believe otherwise. Santa was a symbol of childhood innocence, and stubbornly believing he was real was like clinging to a buoy in an ocean of adulthood and…

New Season, New Me: Changing Your Skin Routine

JUSTAPEAK

After four months of playing in Jack Frost’s wonderland, our  skin tends to be quite unpleasant and dry to the touch. I can’t speak for everyone when I say this but what I do know is now is the time to welcome in the new season with open arms. The sun will be out more often, and your body will change its past routine. If you kept your skin velvety soft and hair unlike autumn leaves, Kudos to you! You understand the way seasons works.

We all anticipate for the spring to allow for us to put our feet up some and relax with all the lotions, layers of pants, and 32oz water jugs. In the real world, that’s not bound to happen. When one door closes, another opens. Yes- you still have to moisturize and drink water to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but not as much as you…
